(Paid partnership with Ann Taylor)
I am SO excited to partner with Ann Taylor to share with you some of their new arrivals that can be worn to the office now and also in the spring and summer! I am loving all the blush pink, light neutrals, and tweed that are part of the collection! I will be sharing a handful of pieces from the new arrivals and using the same pieces I will share multiple ways to mix and match them together to create new outfits! I always think about how much wear I will get out of an item before I decide to buy it and being able to mix and match an item with my existing wardrobe helps ensure that I will get a lot of wear from the item, which in turn helps ensure I get my monies worth! All the outfits that I will be sharing today can be worn to the office if you have a professional or business casual environment and all of these outfits can be worn with jeans if you are able to wear jeans to work! (Stay tuned for my next blog post because I will be sharing how to dress these items down with jeans!)
Starting off with one of my favorite spring transition color combinations, blush pink and gray! Below I am wearing a beautiful blush pink blazer, which is very stretchy (not stiff!), comfortable, and soft! This blazer also is machine washable, which is a HUGE bonus because it saves time and money on dry cleaning! Under the blazer I am wearing a crew neck blouse that is in the same color as the blazer. (I’ll share the details of this blouse next because it has the prettiest hemline and back!) I’m wearing this outfit with gray high-waisted pants, which are stretchy, comfortable, and so flattering! I also really like the cuff detail at the bottom of them! These pants are an ankle length, which I prefer because they look good with heels and flats! These pants also come in black (which I bought!) and I’m hoping Ann Taylor brings them out in more colors because they are SO GOOD! (These pants also are machine washable!) I paired this outfit with neutral high heels but it would also look good with flat shoes if that is more your style!
Below is what the blush pink blouse looks like on its own. It’s made of a stretchy and soft material and I like the rounded hemline! I usually tuck in my shirts and blouses but I really like the way this blouse looks untucked because of the hemline! The back of this blouse is a different material than the front, it’s a satin-like material. The back has a rounded hemline as well and I like that this blouse is on the longer side because it provides good coverage!

I LOVE tie neck blouses! They are hands down my favorite type of blouse! Tie neck blouses and tweed are my biggest fashion weaknesses! So, here we are! I like this tie neck blouse in particular because it is a v-neck style and most of the tie neck blouses that I own are not. (I actually have a tie neck blouse that I bought from Ann Taylor in the fall that is a crew neck style and I unbutton the top two buttons to make it look like a v-neck and now that Ann Taylor brought out this v-neck style tie neck blouse I don’t have to do that anymore!) The ties on this blouse aren’t too long so they could be tied into a loose knot and left to drape or they could be tied into a traditional bow like I did below! Love the versatility! In the below outfits I am wearing the same gray pants from above, but this tie neck blouse could be worn with any color pants! I also paired this outfit with the same neutral high heels from above but because this outfit is so neutral, it could be worn with black shoes or even statement shoes, such as snake print!

Since it is still SO cold outside (at least where I live!), I would wear the tie neck blouse with a cardigan or blazer to add an extra layer of warmth! Below I am wearing the same blush pink blazer that I had on earlier. I particularly like this blazer with this tie neck blouse because both have similar gold buttons so it ties the look together even more!

These gray pants could be styled in so many ways and I’m excited to experiment with new outfits featuring them! Below I am wearing them with a lightweight white short sleeved sweater. This short sleeved sweater is very thin so it will be perfect for the spring and summer because it will provide some warmth to protect against the ARCTIC air conditioning in the office! I also like the sleeve length because it is longer than the usual short sleeved shirt and I find it to be a very flattering length on me! I often find simple outfits are best because they are so easy to put together and look effortlessly stylish! This short sleeved sweater could be worn tucked into pants or untucked! (I can’t decide which way I like better?! I think they both look so good!)

Since it is still so cold outside, I would wear this outfit now with a cardigan or blazer to keep warm! Below I am wearing a beautiful duster cardigan that is in a beige/tan/taupe color. This duster cardigan is really unique and I love all the details, such as the lapels and rolled sleeves with button tabs! It also has a trench coat look to it! Speaking of which, I would wear this duster cardigan now as a sweater but it also could be worn as a lightweight jacket in the spring! (Or if you are fortunate to live somewhere that is relatively warm, it could be worn as a lightweight jacket now!)

I just can’t resist a tie neck blouse! I swapped out the above short sleeved white sweater with a tie neck blouse in the below outfit for a similar (but different!) look! I think the tie neck blouse makes the outfit slightly more dressy!

Since the trench duster cardigan and tie neck blouse are so neutral, you could wear virtually ANY colored or printed pants and it would look good! I liked the gray pants from above so much that I ordered them in black as well! (Black pants are a work wardrobe essential in my opinion! As well as a tie neck blouse!!) Below is what the outfit looks like with black pants. I love that this outfit can be worn all year round and because all of the items are very classic pieces this outfit will always be in style!

Ann Taylor always comes out with the best sheath dresses for work and the below sheath dress is no exception! I love the silhouette of the below dress and it’s a really good length for work! (For sizing reference, I am 5’6″ and I am wearing the regular size but this dress also comes in petite and tall sizes as well!) This dress is light navy blue and it has a crosshatch weave print in a light gray/cream color. This dress also has a small split neck and the opening is a little wider than usual, love all these details! (Ann Taylor’s website is calling it a boatneck style, although it is not as wide as a traditional boatneck so it is perfect for work!) This dress is fully lined and it is MACHINE WASHABLE! (I am pleasantly surprised by this! When I first starting wearing Ann Taylor clothing many, MANY years ago, almost all of their clothing was dry clean only and now I noticed that the majority of their clothing is machine washable, which is a HUGE bonus!) I am wearing this dress here with neutral high heels. These heels are SO comfortable, they are well padded on the inside and they are a best seller at Ann Taylor and I can see why because they are so comfortable and versatile!

Since this dress is short sleeved, I would wear it to work now with a blazer or cardigan! I would wear this dress with a gray or cream blazer or cardigan to bring out the crosshatch weave print or it could also be worn with the pink blazer that I shared earlier! (I love navy blue and pink together, especially during spring!) Below I am wearing the same sweater trench duster cardigan that I had on earlier, love this color combination! I also love the way this duster cardigan flows behind me when I’m walking! I am wearing the same neutral color high heels but this outfit would also look great with flats! (I usually gravitate towards high heels and these are so comfortable that it doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing high heels!)

I’ll end the blog with one of my biggest fashion weaknesses, tweed! I can’t get enough of this tweed jacket! (I’m calling it a jacket here but it is actually more of a soft, sweater material rather than a stiff jacket material!) The colors in this tweed jacket are so pretty! This jacket has black, light pink, blue, white, burnt orange, and more! Since there are so many colors in this tweed sweater jacket, you could wear almost ANY color blouse under this jacket and any colored pants! Below I am wearing the tie neck blouse that I had on earlier and black pants to keep it simple yet professional! This outfit would also look so good with jeans on the weekends (or to work if you can wear jeans to work)! Stay tuned because in my next blog post I will share how to style some of these items for dress down Friday’s in the office!

I love your style!. You look beautiful. I have one question. Because I’m a redhead with a bright complexion, I’m not good with pink. What colour can I change that pink so that the whole outfits looks fresh, light and springtime!
Thank you so much! I think a light olive green color would look stunning for your hair and complexion!
Thank you very much! I was thinking about green, but I was afraid it would be too heavy, but the olive green really will be perfect 🙂
