I am SO excited for today’s blog post! This is one that I had in the works for a while now. I’ve been keeping a running list of this spring’s biggest fashion trends and have been trying to narrow it down just to 10 trends. It was REALLY hard to do! I kept scratching things off my top 10 list and adding things on it and moving things up and down the list lol But, we did it! I narrowed it down to the top 10 biggest fashion trends that we’ll be seeing for spring 2025 (and my personal favorites!).
I’m finding with a lot of these trends, they’re not over the top like we have seen in the past. I find these trends are very wearable and because they’re not too over the top, I also find that you can wear multiple trends in one outfit without it being too much. So today I’ll share different ways to style these trends and you’ll also spot in many of the outfits that I’m wearing several different trends in one outfit!
Trend 1 – pale yellow, the “IT” color of spring
Each season there is what is called the “IT” color of the season. That’s the color we’ll be seeing EVERYWHERE all season long! For spring 2025, the IT color of the season is pale yellow. The nice thing about pale yellow is I’m finding it pairs really nicely with other neutrals, even though there might not be any yellow in the outfit. Adding a pale yellow bag to a neutral outfit looks SO pretty for spring and I feel like it is also unexpected? Below is an example ofย an outfit that doesn’t have any pale yellow in the outfit but adding the pale yellow bag looks so pretty and stylish against the neutral colors! I always say, if you like a trend or maybe if you’re not too sure about a trend but you want to give it a try without fully committing to it, accessories are a great way to incorporate a trend into your existing wardrobe.
P.S. To shop the outfits, you can click on the photos or the images of the items directly below the photos. I linked alternatives for anything that is sold out now.

If you notice, the snake print bag in the above outfit also has a yellow tint to it. Usually, we see snake print bags in a more neutral color palette of grays, blacks, and ivories. The pale yellow tint to this snake print bag is a subtle nod to the pale yellow trend.

Trend 2 – lower-rise jeans
Let’s chat all things jeans, we have LOTS to cover on the topic! lol Usually each season there is one jean style like wide leg, or bootcut, or skinny jeans, that dominate the runways and stores. Five or ten years ago, skinny jeans were EVERYWHERE! It almost felt like you couldn’t even buy a different style of jean in the stores because they only sold skinny jeans. I have to say, this past fall and winter, there was almost a three-way tie between wide leg, flare leg, and bootcut jeans in terms of popularity. Wide leg jeans have been trending for the past couple years but this past fall and winter we started to see the other jean styles competing with the wide leg for popularity. AND, at the end of this past winter, we started to see skinny jeans trending. Curious to know your thoughts on skinny jeans? I feel like it’s a jean style that people are REALLY divided on lol especially if you wore them five to ten years ago when they were super popular, it seems you either LOVE them and maybe never stopped wearing them? Or you absolutely despise them, you’re so sick of them because you wore them so much and you’re ready for a different style of jean lol So, curious to know your thoughts?! I do have to admit, skinny jeans worn with a knee high boot in the winter is SUCH a great combination because the jean leg is fitted so I find out of all the jean styles, skinny jeans tuck into knee high boots SO well! Whereas, other jean styles, like a wide leg jean or flare leg jean, can be a little difficult to tuck into knee high boots because there is so much fabric. BUT, now that we’re heading into the warmer months, I think the hype around skinny jeans at the end of winter will slowly fade away because the thought of wearing a super fitted skinny jean in hot and humid weather doesn’t sound very appealing lol But they might make a reappearance in the fall, time will tell!
With all that being said, this spring there is not one jean leg style that is trending. They’re literally all in style this spring lol But, the one overarching theme when it comes to jeans is a shift from a high rise jean to a lower rise jean. The ones I’m wearing here are called a “lower-rise” jean on the website. They’re not called mid-rise which, to me, if I were to describe them I would say they’re more like a mid-rise. I wore low rise jeans back in the day, was it 20 years ago? When I type that out, it seems SO long ago lol If I remember correctly, the low rise jeans I wore back in the day were VERY low lol Like, dangerously low when you sat down lol These new lower-rise jeans are not that low, to me they’re more like a mid-rise jean.

I have to admit, I have been wearing high rise jeans for many years now (maybe 10 years now?!). I remember when they first came out, it was my first time wearing high rise jeans and it felt SO weird lol But now, I LOVE them and can’t imagine going back to a low rise jean. I bought the light blue lower rise jean just to try out, fully expecting that I wouldn’t like them and I would end up returning but NO!! I really like them! They’re so comfortable! I think part of the reason why I like them so much is because they’re not that super lower rise that I remember from 20 years ago.
Trend 3 – denim-on-denim outfits
Seeing denim shirts and denim dresses trending this season and, the trend of all trends, denim-on-denim outfits! Which is a great trend in the spring because where I live it’s still really cold out but I am SO ready to start wearing all the spring outfits! I find denim shirts are usually made out of a thicker material than say a classic button up shirt. So if you wear a denim shirt or denim dress, it’s usually a little thicker and warmer. The nice thing about a thicker denim shirt, like the one I’m wearing below, is you can wear it like you would a button up shirt either by tucking it into your bottoms or leaving it untucked. Or, you can also wear it as a lightweight spring jacket and wear it over your outfit and take it off if you get warm.

Trend 4 – drawstring pants
Drawstring pants are SO nice for spring and summer! I love that you can style it SO many different ways and for so many different occasions! Sometimes the pants are made out of satin or just have a satin-like look to them. Because of the material and wide leg, it could be worn casually out running errands or you can dress it up with a kitten heel and a nice top and wear it out for dinner! They’re SO comfortable because of the drawstring waistband and wide leg and they would be a great alternative to leggings, if you are looking to add more variety into your wardrobe. They could be styled in the same way that you would normally style leggings. They would also make a great pant option for traveling or working from home.

Trend 5 – belted blazers, cardigans, and dresses
This trend is not something new, this is something that people have been doing for quite some time to add more interest and personality to an outfit but this season we are actually seeing stores sell blazers, cardigans, and dresses with belts that are meant to be worn around the waist with these items. It’s a bit of a nod to another trend we saw last season, which was pinched waist blazers and cardigans. A lot of times trends carry over from season to season, either the exact trend or a slightly modified version of the trend. Adding the belt around your waist gives that cinched waist look. The nice thing about this trend is, of course you can go and buy an article of clothing that comes with a belt to be worn around the waist, but you can also do this with your existing wardrobe just by adding whatever belt you already own and styling it around your waist. My favorite kind of trends are trends that don’t cost anything and things I can do with my existing wardrobe. So, sign me up for this trend! lol

Trend 6 – animal print
This trend is an evolution of a trend that we started to see at the end of last summer. At the end of last summer, leopard print was a HUGE trend and was a huge trend this past fall and winter. I use the term “trend” lightly here because I feel like leopard print is always in style but it’s kind of like a rollercoaster where it peaks during some seasons. This season, leopard print is still very much on trend but now we’re seeing more unique animal prints trending as well, like snake print, cow print, and zebra print.

Trend 7 – romantic details
This trend has different names but I’m going to call it “romantic details.” This season, the romantic details trend is very subtle. Some examples are small bows, ruffle details, lace, sheer fabrics, and flowy materials.

These details can be found in any piece of clothing. We see it in tops, bottoms, and dresses but also accessories. As an example, last summer mesh Mary Jane style flats were a HUGE trend. This season, the mesh flats are still a big trend but I picked these up that have a dainty bow detail. I also picked up a classic pointy-toe slingback heel that also has a dainty bow detail. Both shoes are a nod to the romantic details trend.
Trend 8 – culotte pants
The culotte pants trend is an evolution of another trend that we saw last spring and summer, although I feel like it didn’t pick up much steam last year and that was the capri pants. Capri pants were in style 20 years ago and, similar to skinny jeans, I think people either LOVE them from back in the day and were excited to see them back in style or were so OVER them lol From my comments section and DMs, I think the majority of my followers were over the capri pants lol This season, culottes are back in style so they are a shorter pant and usually have a more wide, flowy leg. I LOVED these style of pants 20 years and I love that they’re back in style, they also have that nostalgia factor for me. Curious to get your thoughts on culottes – are you LOVING them or LEAVING them in the past?
I shared these culotte shorts on my social media the other day and the verdict was definitely mixed on these lol Here I styled them with a short sleeved blazer and kitten heels for a chic spring outfit. I could see myself wearing this outfit everyday, grabbing a coffee with a friend, or out to brunch. I think the longer length and wide leg style of them make them more elevated than a typical jean short. I styled them in a slightly dressy way but I can also see myself wearing these with flat sandals and a tank top for a casual spring look.

Trend 9 – vests
They’re backkkk!! Tailored looking vests were a HUGE trend last spring and summer. They’re usually made out of a linen-blend or cotton material. I lovedd this trend last year and I am SO excited to see it back again this season. Although, I think vests are a classic piece of clothing that’s always in style, it’s just more in style now more than ever. There are so many ways to style vests. I love that they can be worn casually with a pair of jeans and sandals, for an elevated casual look. They also can be dressed up with a midi skirt and worn for a slightly more dressy occasion, like brunch. They also could be worn to work, either on their own or worn with a blazer over the top.

Trend 10 – shoes and bags
Let’s do a deep dive on the trending shoes and bags for spring 2025! Starting things off with shoes, as I mentioned earlier, mesh shoes will be a big trend this spring. This is such a unique shoe and I love the mesh fabric because it’s more breathable in the warmer months than a shoe that is completely closed off in fabric. Another big trend is buckle details. We’re seeing the buckle details on flat sandals but also on a more dressy high heel sandal that you wouldn’t normally see a buckle detail on. Below is an example of a flat sandal and dressier high heel sandal with the buckle details. If you notice, the high heel sandal also has reptile embossing to the material, which is also a nod to the animal print trend. Finally, be prepared to see A LOT of square toed sandals and shoes this season!
For bags, the overarching trend is unstructured bags. Bucket bags will also be really popular and (you guessed it!) animal print bags!
