I recently got back from visiting Los Angeles for the first time and I’m sharing with you today what I did and (more importantly!) what I wore during my trip!
I visited California at the perfect time because the weather was in the 70’s and it was so nice, warm, and comfortable! I love chocolate (especially cupcakes!) and a stop at Sprinkles was a must on Day 1! I ended up getting two cupcakes (chocolate frosting with chocolate inside and also chocolate frosting and vanilla inside) and I can’t decide which I liked better?! They were both so good!
Next on the agenda was doing a hop-on-hop-off bus tour! Love going on these tours because it is a great way to see a lot in a short amount of time! I usually do the full tour once and then make note of where I want to hop off to do some more exploring when I take the tour again! I hopped off on Rodeo Drive and did some (window) shopping! It is such a pretty street lined with palm trees, luxury stores, and exotic cars. There also are a couple of streets nearby with more stores, such as Club Monaco and Saks, and there are a number of restaurants nearby with outdoor seating, which is perfect for soaking in the beautiful weather, sights, and people watching! One of my favorite things to do when it’s nice out is enjoy a meal outside and there are so many outdoor restaurants in LA, which is right up my alley!
I was surprised to see how spread out Los Angeles is! For some reason I always imagine cities to have a similar layout as New York, Boston, or London with everything centrally located and public transportation easy to come by. But not Los Angeles! You definitely need a car in Los Angeles to get around. I know there is a subway system and buses are available but I didn’t trust myself navigating through it!
I bought these white basket weave slides for my trip and I’m so glad that I did because they are so comfy and perfect for traveling and for everyday! Here I paired them with a white tee (love the 3/4 length sleeves!) and pink paperpag pants for a stylish everyday outfit! And I can’t say enough good things about these paperbag pants! The high waist and tapered leg are so flattering and make my legs look so long! Also love the waist band because it cinches me in and defines my waist but it is so comfortable! I love silk scarves and I tied a pink printed scarf around the handle of my brown handbag here to tie in the whole look! I also wore the white slides with an all neutral outfit featuring a beautiful cream colored boyfriend blazer, white sailor shorts with large gold buttons on the sides, and a simple silky cream color camisole!

Nothing says spring like an all white outfit! Here I’m wearing a beautiful lightweight white sweater with a gorgeous pleated white midi skirt! I’ve been searching diligently for months for a perfect white pleated midi skirt and I was so excited to find this beauty! Love the knife pleats because it looks so beautiful and I love the way the skirt flows and moves while walking! To break up this all white outfit I added a skinny neutral colored belt around my waist. Since this skirt doesn’t have belt loops, I tied the ends of the belt into a little knot to keep it in place! And to complete this spring outfit I’m wearing nude suede heels (which are so comfy, it feels like I’m wearing sneakers!)!

Love neutrals for spring and summer because they’re so bright and fresh! I packed a lot of neutrals for my trip, which made putting an outfit together so easy because all items could be mixed and matched to create new looks! Below I am wearing a gray short sleeved top with the pleated midi skirt that I wore earlier with a different top! I am also wearing the gray top with my favorite (and so flattering!) Madewell white high rise skinny jeans! This gray top is actually a wool blend short sleeved sweater so it kept me warm but not TOO warm! Also love that it can be dressed up or down and also worn to the office! (If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know that I have been wearing this gray short sleeved sweater non-stop to the office! (I usually pair it with cream colored trousers for the office!))

I picked up this pretty white maxi dress with a pink palm print specifically for my trip, but also knowing that I will get so much use out of it this spring and summer! Love all the dainty details of this dress, like the little cap sleeves, lace, and side slits! I paired this beautiful maxi dress here with cream colored espadrilles and a round wicker bag for a cute, easy, everyday spring outfit! Love these espadrilles because they are so lightweight and comfortable! I picked them up last year and I’m happy to report that these exact pair are back in stock! Espadrilles are such a classic style and I love how feminine they are! I especially love to wear them with a pretty summer dress but they also look so cute with shorts!

And finally to close out my trip, I’m wearing (another) neutral outfit! Here I’m wearing a pretty lace top with a Reiss high waisted cream colored pencil skirt (which is perfect for the office!), a nude belt, and my suede heels! I watched the movie Focus on the plane heading to Los Angeles and this outfit was inspired by Margot Robbie’s outfit when she’s in Spain – LOVED her outfits in that movie!

Los Angeles, it was fun! Until next time! XOXO Nikki
