I don’t know about you but I can’t believe that it is almost November! Where did October go?!! Seeing that we’re fast approaching winter I am rounding up the top fashion trends that I’m seeing for fall and the start of winter. I would love to hear your thoughts and the fashion trends that you will and will not be participating in! We have a lot to cover so here we go! These trends are in no particular order:
- Velvet – I know I said the trends are listed here in no particular order but I do think velvet is the top trend for the season. Velvet blazers, velvet camisoles, velvet dresses, and velvet shoes are all the rage right now and I love it! Velvet is so soft, warm, and I love the way it looks when the light hits it just right! Here are some velvet pieces that I’m loving:
- Sock booties – This is one of my favorite trends right now! Although, I don’t think sock booties are a “trend,” I think we will see them for the next couple of seasons and I couldn’t be more happier! They are so versatile, you can wear them with jeans, a midi skirt, a skirt with black tights, a dress, and I could go on and on! I just ordered sock booties online so expect to see them a lot on my Instagram! The first pair below are the ones I ordered and I also included a couple of other cute pairs that I found online:
- Western inspired prints and belts – This trend is perfect for this time of year! I absolutely love the look of a western print dress paired with sock booties or a sweater dress that is cinched at the waist with a western style belt buckle. Because this trend probably won’t be around this time next year, I tend to turn to H&M, Zara, and Forever 21 for items that fit the Western trend and are budget friendly. Below are my favorite items to infuse the western trend into your wardrobe:
- Pleated skirts – If you follow me on Instagram (which you should!) then you already know that I have been loving the pleated skirt trend! For this time of year I love pairing a short pleated skirt with over-the-knee boots and a cozy sweater. I also love knee length, midi length, and ankle length pleated skirts with sock booties. Pleated skirts are an effortless way to look polished whether at the office or out to brunch on a Sunday. Below are some pleated skirts that I’m loving (you might even recognize some from my Instagram!):
- Checkered print – I love checkered print because it is so versatile. If you have followed me for some time then you know that I love getting the most bang for my buck (who doesn’t?!). Checkered print can be worn to the office for a chic look and it can also be worn outside of the office for a polished and classy look. I love swapping my boring black blazers and black coats for a checkered version because it is a good way to inject some color and fun into your fall and winter wardrobe. I love the below checkered pants because it also incorporates the popular paper bag style and it would look so cute with an ivory sweater or a white button down blouse. Checkered skirts are also so timeless and I love the way they look with black tights and sock booties or over-the-knee boots. Below are some of the checkered items that I have been loving:

I’m with you on the checked print. I can see that becoming a big trend this winter.
I completely agree!
