(Paid partnership with Ann Taylor)
I have been wearing this Ann Taylor houndstooth cardigan non-stop since I picked it up a month ago so I thought it deserved its own dedicated blog post! If you’ve been following me on Instagram or YouTube then you know that I am a HUGE fan of clothes that can be worn different ways and for different occasions because I am all about getting the most wear out of my clothes! I always take into consideration whether an item could be worn to the office and also outside the office and whether it can be worn over multiple seasons. I love that this houndstooth cardigan can be worn to the office and also outside the office with jeans for a more casual look!
I am calling it a cardigan but it is actually called a “coatigan” on Ann Taylor’s website. I have never heard that term before and it is very fitting for this item! This cardigan (or should I say “coatigan”!) is thick and VERY warm! I have been wearing it as a cardigan but it also could be worn as a coat in the spring when it gets warmer outside!
Since the houndstooth print is a light camel color with a cream background I find that it is very versatile because it is so neutral. Below I am wearing it with Ann Taylor navy blue pants for a casual, but professional, work outfit!

This cardigan has a tie waist belt that could be tied in the front into a cute bow, such as above. The cardigan could also be left open and the tie waist belt could be tied in the back, such as below! The below outfit really accentuates this pretty shimmer blouse! This blouse is a champagne color and it looks so pretty on its own but it also makes for a great layering item! I have been wearing it under the cardigan but it also could be worn under a blazer!

Another way to wear this cardigan to the office is by wearing a white button down shirt underneath. A white button down shirt is a work wardrobe essential and is perfect for layering under a cardigan, sweater, or blazer! It’s probably the most worn item in my closet career-to-date! Since the houndstooth cardigan and white shirt is so neutral, you could wear this outfit with black pants, brown pants, or cream pants! Below I am wearing it with high waisted, wide-leg brown pants that I bought from Ann Taylor a few months ago. I love these pants because they are very stretchy, comfortable, and flattering! (P.S. They also come in a navy blue color and both colors are currently on sale! But, they are starting to sell out!)

If you are able to wear jeans to the office whether every day or on certain days, such as Friday’s, then the navy blue pants from the first outfit could be swapped out with jeans for a business casual look! The below outfit is one of my go-to outfits for the weekends as well! I love how simple and easy it is to put together! (Not to mention how warm and comfortable this outfit is!) I am wearing straight leg jeans below and I think this outfit would also look good with skinny jeans, wide leg jeans, or any other jean style that you prefer! I am also wearing the same Ann Taylor neutral color high heels as in the previous outfits. I find neutral heels to be so versatile, they go with any and every outfit! These high heels are made of leather and they are very well cushioned on the inside! They are so comfortable, it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing high heels! No wonder they are a best seller at Ann Taylor!

Lastly, one of my favorite ways to wear this cardigan on the weekends during the colder months is by pairing it with skinny jeans and knee high boots! I wear wool socks to be extra toasty and I usually wear thermal shirts under my outfits in the winter but no thermal shirt is needed with this cardigan because it is SO warm!

I hope this blog post was helpful in thinking about different ways to style a cardigan both to the office and outside the office! Thank you SO much Ann Taylor for partnering with me on this blog post, it is truly an honor!
